Kobbie Mainoo celebrated his new contract by scoring the winner that swept Manchester United back into the Champions League as they clinched a five-goal thriller against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

United led 2-0 at the break, thanks to early goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
However, Liverpool turned the contest on its head immediately after half-time as Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo capitalised on errors to level.
But in a frenzied finish, Liverpool failed to clear Luke Shaw's cross and the ball fell kindly for Mainoo on the edge of the area and he crashed a first-time effort into the bottom corner.
It came three days after Mainoo signed a new five-year contract at United - in a season when he did not start a league game under former boss Ruben Amorim.
In a game missed by Sir Alex Ferguson, who was taken from the ground in an ambulance as a precaution after feeling unwell, the victory confirmed United's return to Europe's elite club competition after a two-year absence and means Liverpool still need four points to confirm their spot.
Almost as important in meetings between England's two most successful clubs, this win gave United bragging rights thanks to their first league double over Liverpool since 2015-16.
That can only strengthen Michael Carrick's claim to be appointed head coach on a permanent basis.
Carrick has now beaten Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea to complete a clean sweep of England's 'Super League' clubs.
Tottenham Hotspur moved out of the Premier League relegation zone with an outstanding victory at Aston Villa as new head coach Roberto de Zerbi's rescue mission gathered momentum.

West Ham United's defeat at Brentford on Saturday left the door ajar for Spurs to go above their rivals - and they stormed through it with arguably their finest performance of the season.
They made light of injuries to key forwards Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke in last weekend's victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers - their first in the league since 28 December - to establish a fully deserved two-goal lead at the interval against their fifth-placed hosts.
Conor Gallagher's first goal since his January move from Atletico Madrid, a crisp low finish from 20 yards, was just reward for a fine start as the visitors led after 12 minutes.
Joao Palhinha then hit the post with a swerving effort, but Spurs' second goal was not long in coming as Richarlison headed emphatically past Villa keeper Emi Martinez from Mathys Tel's cross in the 25th minute.
Villa manager Unai Emery made seven changes from the team that lost to Nottingham Forest in the Europa League semi-final first leg, with one eye clearly on Thursday's return at Villa Park - and it showed in a dismal display.
Substitute Emi Buendia pulled a goal back with seconds left, heading home Matty Cash's cross, but it was too little, too late as Spurs secured the crucial win that moved them a point ahead of West Ham with just three league games left.
Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League with Bukayo Saka playing a starring role and Viktor Gyokeres taking his season's goal tally to 21 as they comfortably beat Fulham at Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men took the chance to pile the pressure on title rivals Manchester City who have played two games fewer than the Gunners and are not in action until Monday when they visit Everton.
Arsenal went ahead in the ninth minute when Saka, making his first start since March after an Achilles injury, easily beat Raul Jimenez down the right and picked out Gyokeres to tap in from close range for his 20th goal of the campaign.
The Swedish striker then turned provider five minutes before the break when he slipped a pass into Saka and the England winger curled a quality low finish past Fulham keeper Bernd Leno at his near post.
Gyokeres then claimed his second on the night when he headed home Leandro Trossard's cross to wrap up the three points in first-half stoppage time.
The Gunners almost added a fourth when Riccardo Calafiori headed on to the crossbar, with the Italian having had an earlier strike ruled out for offside.
Having made five changes to his starting line-up, Arteta was also able to take off Saka at half-time and rest other key players as focus moved to Arsenal's Champions League semi-final second-leg tie against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. The game is finely poised at 1-1 for the return leg at Emirates Stadium.
Chris Wood gave Nottingham Forest a crucial lead in their Europa League semi-final with Aston Villa.

The striker's 71st-minute penalty - after Lucas Digne's absurd handball - allows Vitor Pereira's side to take a slender advantage to Villa Park for next week's second leg.
It was the 200th career goal for a player who has had a tough season, spending six months out with a knee injury.
Emi Martinez's brilliant reaction save - clawing the ball off the line to deny IgorJesus after 33 minutes - prevented Forest from scoring earlier.
Villa beat Forest 3-1 at Villa Park in the Premier League in January but must overcome a deficit as Unai Emery searches for a fifth Europa League title.
Stefan Ortega saved from Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers before the break and he also kept put Ollie Watkins' instinctive effort in the second half.
Forest then edged ahead when Wood smashed in a penalty after Digne's rush of blood.
The left-back inexplicably put his arms up as Omari Hutchinson tried to hook a deep ball back into the box just as it looked like it was dropping out, with VAR ruling it had not gone completely over the line and out of play - and therefore was still live.
Ismaila Sarr scored the fastest goal in Conference League history as Crystal Palace put themselves in a strong position to reach the final with victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of their last-four tie.

The Senegal forward struck after just 21 seconds in Poland, getting in behind Shakhtar's defence to collect Jean-Philippe Mateta's pass before slotting into the far corner.
Shakhtar dominated possession after that but lacked the cutting edge as they chased an equaliser.
Instead, Palace came closest to scoring again before half-time when a flowing move ended with Daniel Munoz's dangerous ball into the box being gathered by keeper Dmytro Riznyk just ahead of Sarr.
The Ukrainian side, who hosted the tie in Krakow due to the conflict in their country, started the second half much like Palace did the first.
And they grabbed an equaliser within two minutes of the restart as Oleh Ocheretko prodded in from close range after Kaua Elias headed on a corner.
That seemed to lift Arda Turan's side and for a period they dominated possession, but it was Palace who threatened as Riznyk made two brilliant saves to deny first Sarr and then Mateta, who also struck the post with a hooked finish following a Chris Richards throw-in.
But Palace were not to be denied in the 58th minute when another Richards throw caused problems and fell for Daichi Kamada to sweep home his first goal for the club since October 2024 at Aston Villa in the League Cup.
With six minutes left, Kamada played a fine ball through for substitute Jorgen Strand Larsen, whose clever touch took him away from a defender before he calmly fired in a crucial third goal.
With the return at Selhurst Park on Thursday, 7 May, the impressive display gave Palace one foot in a first major European final.
