Mohamed Salah scored his 250th Liverpool goal as the Reds ended their four-game Premier League losing streak with victory over Aston Villa. 02 Nov 2025
The 33-year-old Egyptian could not believe his luck when he was gifted the ball from Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's poor clearance before firing low into the unguarded net in first-half added time. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, back after missing three games with an ankle injury, sealed the three points in the 58th minute with a 20-yard shot that deflected in off Pau Torres to leave Martinez with no chance. Salah's goal meant he joined Ian Rush and Roger Hunt in becoming only the third Liverpool player to ever score 250 goals in all competitions for the club. After spells in both the 1980s and 1990s, Wales icon Rush is their all-time record scorer with 346 goals, while former England striker Hunt struck 285 times in the late 1950s and 1960s. Villa, who were aiming for a fifth successive league victory after losing their first five, twice hit the woodwork in the first half of a hugely entertaining match at a passionate and noisy Anfield. England's Morgan Rogers cut inside from the left flank and curled a fine 20-yard effort that thudded against the right-hand post in only the fifth minute, before Matty Cash's effort deflected off Virgil van Dijk with home keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili touching the ball on to the bar. Liverpool's success, their first in the league since a 2-1 victory over Everton on 20 September, took the reigning champions up to third in the table, although they are seven points behind leaders Arsenal.
Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid opened up a seven-point lead in La Liga with a comfortable win over Valencia at Santiago Bernabeu. 02 Nov 2025
After Mbappe's double inside 31 minutes, Vinicius Jr had a penalty saved by Valencia goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala before Jude Bellingham's brilliant curling effort sent the hosts further clear before the break. Alvaro Carreras then sealed Real's fourth successive win in the Spanish top flight with a majestic left-footed strike into the top corner from a tight angle. There was bound to be plenty of attention on Vinicius Jr in this contest after he publicly expressed his displeasure at being substituted during last week's El Clasico, storming past Xabi Alonso and straight down the tunnel. The Brazil winger started alongside Mbappe and Bellingham - both of who were also on the scoresheet in the win over Barcelona last Sunday. It was Mbappe who broke the deadlock again, from the penalty spot in the 19th minute, after Franco Mastantuono's corner hit the arm of Valencia centre-back Cesar Tarrega. England midfielder Bellingham then released Arda Guler on the left and the Turkish attacker crossed for Mbappe to volley home his second. The visitors conceded another penalty when Thierry Correra fouled Carreras but the spot-kick from Vinicius down the middle was easily saved by Agirrezabala. But Real got their third a minute later when Bellingham made space at the edge of the box and found the bottom corner past a diving Agirrezabala to end a whirlwind first half. The second period, however, proved much less exciting. Real only had one shot on target before left-back Carreras sealed the victory with a stunning goal in the 82nd minute to seal a 10th win in 11 matches. Villarreal are second in La Liga after their 4-0 win against Rayo Vallecano earlier in the day, while third-placed Barcelona can move five points behind the leaders if they overcome eighth-placed Elche on Sunday.
A late goal from Goncalo Ramos gave Paris St-Germain a dramatic win over Nice to ensure that the reigning champions would remain at the top of Ligue 1. 02 Nov 2025
The Champions League holders seemed set to drop points for the second game in a row until the Portuguese forward headed in from a corner in the fourth minute of added time. Lee Kang-In's set-piece was flicked on by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Ramos pounced to nod home from close range. Former Benfica striker Ramos has form for scoring goals in stoppage time this season, having done so to level the Uefa Super Cup final against Tottenham with a header, before scoring late on against Atalanta and Barcelona in the Champions League. The win saw Luis Enrique's side move four points ahead of Monaco, who face Paris FC on Saturday evening. PSG are next in action on 4 November when they host Bayern Munich in the Champions League (20:00 GMT), before facing Lyon away in Ligue 1 on 9 November (19:45 GMT).
Bayern Munich continued their impeccable start to the Bundesliga season with victory over Bayer Leverkusen to move five points clear at the top. 02 Nov 2025
It was a ninth consecutive league win, and 15 in all competitions, for Vincent Kompany's men, with the defending champions proving impossible to stop so far. Serge Gnabry marked his 250th Bundesliga appearance with the opening goal in the 25th minute, slotting past Leverkusen goalkeeper Mark Flekken. Six minutes later, Nicolas Jackson netted his first league goal for the club since joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer. An own goal from Loic Bade compounded Leverkusen's misery as their impressive run of 37 Bundesliga away games without defeat was ended in emphatic fashion. Jackson also had a goal disallowed for offside and headed another effort over the bar in a good performance leading the line, with Harry Kane given a rare rest. The England captain, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz started on the bench and came on as part of a triple substitution in the 59th minute. By that stage, Bayern were in complete control of the contest and moved five points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig with the success, while Leverkusen remain fifth. Attention turns to the Champions League for both sides as Bayern travel to Paris St-Germain on Tuesday, 4 November (20:00 GMT), while Leverkusen visit Benfica on Wednesday (20:00 GMT).
Joao Pedro ended his 10-game goal drought to give Chelsea a deserved victory as Tottenham were booed off after another dismal home performance. 01 Nov 2025
The 24-year-old Brazilian has been struggling for both fitness and form but confidently chipped in the winner after persistent pressing by Moises Caicedo forced defender Micky van de Ven into a mistake inside his own box. Pedro could have scored three by half-time but for two fine saves by Italian keeper Guglielmo Vicario who saved low to his right and then reacted quickly to tip away a volley. But in the end, that solitary goal was enough to beat a Spurs side that lacked creativity and registered just three shots on goal. Spurs were poor in attack with only Mohamed Kudus having efforts of any kind, shooting over in the 33rd minute from long range, before finally testing goalkeeper Robert Sanchez in the fifth minute of first-half added time. Chelsea should have won by more though. Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez wasted good opportunities, while Vicario again denied Pedro, while substitute Jamie Gittens blazed a close-range effort over the bar. But the Blues have risen to fourth, level with Spurs on 17 points, but behind their London rivals on goal difference. However, Spurs' home form is punishing them. They have just three wins in their past 19 games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium across former manager Ange Postecoglou and now Thomas Frank's tenure.
